WHO WE ARE
WHERE LOVE AND JUSTICE MEET
Central Congregational Church has roots deep in the Topeka community. From its earliest beginnings, this church has been all about working to fulfill the needs of our neighbors. We are an Open & Affirming, Inclusive, Progressive church in the heart of our city.
WORSHIP WITH US
We have one service at 10 a.m. each Sunday, which lasts about an hour. Sermons are interactive and meaningful. Music is selected from upbeat classics, praise hymns and performances from members. Services are followed by the sharing of fellowship, food and laughter.
OUR PASTOR
Our current pastor, the Rev. Gage Church, is a former newspaper journalist. He answered a long and lingering call to ministry. He preaches from a viewpoint of progressive Christianity.
OUR COMMUNITY
Our church owes its vibrancy to the many members of the congregation who are committed to fulfilling its mission by serving on our committees. Through them, we also serve the greater community.

THE UCC
The United Church of Christ is a progressive Christian denomination and a pioneering community on social issues. The UCC was the first denomination to ordain women, African Americans and openly gay and lesbian clergy.
OUR HISTORY
Central Church's first pastor was the Rev. Charles Sheldon, a pioneer in the social gospel movement and author of the international bestseller "In His Steps." Rev. Sheldon gave birth to the profound question "What Would Jesus Do?"
